White-Collar Crime-Discussion

Q There are several types of white collar crimes which include insider trading, mail and wire fraud, and money laundering. White collar crime arguably costs our country more money than all other crimes combined. In fact, According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), white-collar crime is estimated to cost the United States more than $300 billion annually. Make sure you have watched the video for this week before you post in the forums. You'll see five names listed below of white collar criminals who were convicted and imprisoned for their crimes. Choose one and conduct some research on them. What did they do and what for what crimes were they convicted? Then I want you to define the crimes of which they were convicted, using your book. Once you define the crime(s), tell us what facts the prosecutor would have used to prove the elements of that crime. Finally, tell us about the sentence they received and whether they are still in prison. Did their punishment fit the crime? Why or why not?
